Salary:Main Grade: £29,577 to £32,233 + recruitment & retention package of £5000 over 6 years.

Higher Grade:£35,744 – £39,880 p.a.

Your New Role

We currently have a post available in the Through Care Team 2 which works with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and Care Leavers, to support them through to independence or reunification to their families. The post holder will be responsible for supporting young people aged up to 25years, during their care journey, and developing their independent living skills.

This post offers a rare and exciting opportunity to join a specialist team providing high quality social work assessment and support to young people who have experienced significant separation and loss, including those who have recently arrived in the UK. You will be at the forefront of development and contribute to the growing knowledge base and research around meeting the complex needs of adolescents and young people.

If you would like to further build your knowledge, skills and ability to engage effectively with adolescents and young people; to promote their resilience, to work through the impact of earlier life traumas and to support their developing skills for successful independent living this could be the role for you.

What you’ll need to succeed

An excellent communicator, you will Have a Diploma or Degree in social work and be registered with Social Work England. Evidence of post qualifying experience would be an advantage. You will have experience of working in a social care setting, this can include placements. In addition, you will have a good working knowledge of theory and legislation including the Children act 89/04 amongst others.
