Our Purchasing team, play a key role in procuring cost effective materials for production and services for the business.

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Purchasing Manager to join our manufacturing sites in Ditton and Leek. In this role, you will ensure the company achieves the lowest total cost of acquisition for direct and indirect materials along with playing a key role in CAPEX projects. This will include developing and implementing risk managed purchasing strategies across the commodities, as well as compliance with group policies and third party regulations. You will work closely with the supply-chain and production planning department to ensure on-time, in-full delivery according to production requirements. Responding to the Site Director, you will provide effective management of the site purchasing department and its activities, including involvement in strategic category management of Fish Oils. You will be responsible for managing and coaching other members of the Purchasing team, maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with your peers in the senior leadership team and for creating and managing the departmental budget. Improvement of functional practices/processes through continuous improvement projects is a must.

Essentials
  • Previous experience of purchasing raw materials and indirect commodities
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills to ensure continuous supply of materials
  • Experience of departmental and/or line management
  • You will be an excellent communicator and influencer, capable of building effective working relationships
  • Proven networking skills

Desirables
  • Experience of purchasing chemicals and packaging buying
  • Experience working with crop/seasonal market contracts
  • Experience of working with REACh
  • SAP user experience
  • CIPS Qualifications
  • You should be educated to degree level
