In 2021, we were awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for our world-leading music therapy work.

About the Role:
You will join our School of Life Sciences, working with academics teaching and conducting world-class research in Ecology, Conservation, animal behaviour, Biomedical Science, Forensic Science, Crime and Investigative Science, based in our Faculty of Science and Engineering. We’re a forward-looking and enthusiastic School with a vision that combines commitment to a strong and active research culture with excellence in learning and teaching.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate leadership in research and have an excellent and active record of research income generation. You will be widely connected to a network of external collaborators, including funding bodies, and/or industrial partners, and will exploit your knowledge and experience in order to assist other colleagues in the School of Life Sciences to enhance their research activities. While this post will not have a significant teaching responsibility, the successful candidate would be expected to contribute to teaching particularly in the area of research project supervision and undergraduate and MSc level, where your knowledge of research would enhance the student experience.

With PhD or Professional Doctorate, you will currently hold the title of Reader/Professor in another UK university or have the ability to meet our attached Professorial Criteria. With strong management and organisational skills, you’ll have significant and successful research profile evidenced by publications and evidence of success in achieving external research funding, including commercially sponsored research and knowledge exchange.
