About the role:
We are looking for an innovative, industry-focussed and dynamic individual to play a key role in delivering our ambitions to enhance and grow our provision of entrepreneurship so that we can significantly increase student and graduate start-ups and the social and economic impact of our graduates more widely.

You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a strong network of contacts including employers, business support organisations, incubators/accelerators, workspace providers, investor groups which support graduate entrepreneurs to establish new ventures. You’ll be expected to link graduate entrepreneurs into key networks and communities of practice as well as securing sufficient external support and funding to grow this provision. In addition, you will be required to build relevant communities in which good practice can be developed and shared.

You will work as part of a broad cross-departmental team, including our Innovation Centres and will therefore need to be customer focussed, with an understanding of, and empathy for, both the business and academic environment as well as being comfortable in negotiating with industry, organisations and appropriate funding bodies.

You will have a higher degree or professional qualification at postgraduate level plus significant demonstrable professional experience relevant to the role, such as managing business development activity and working within an entrepreneurship context. You will also have experience leading and developing enterprise and entrepreneurship ecosystems and networks as well working with early-stage businesses and start-ups and the related landscape of grant and seedcorn funding.
