CK Group are recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced Product Development Technologist to join a Biotechnology company at their site based near Oxford, on a permanent basis.

The Company: This is an excellent opportunity to join a pioneering biotech company looking to tackling the major global challenges of keeping people healthy and increasing food production.

The Role: Responsible for developing key components of insect rearing technology for integration into our clients new production facilities in UK and South America.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing a strong, cross-functional team ethos, and building strong interfaces with other technical functions;
  • Improving existing processes and equipment solutions and spearheading the development of new ones
  • Test, evaluate and report on processes and equipment progress
  • Working with external providers
  • Managing projects for both internal and customers

Your Background:

  • BSc / MSc / PhD in the Biological Sciences or a related scientific discipline
  • Experience working with animals/insect colonies (especially Drosophilas), specifically in insect mass rearing (desirable)
  • Experience in application of molecular techniques (qPCR, expression profiling)
  • Backgrounds in food production technology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, innovative farming systems or related consultancy fields to be relevant
  • Experience bringing automation into biological systems;
  • Ability to travel internationally required,(global circumstances permitting).
