Job Description


This is a full time, permanent position working a 37.5 hour week Monday - Friday flexibly between 07:00 - 19:00

Each member of this team will be asked to work a Saturday and Sunday once every 6 weeks to support weekend work. This would be offset by having two days off around that weekend. This pattern would be viable for an additional premium payment for weekend working.

Our client is a global leader in Life Sciences. We are currently recruiting for a number of enthusiastic Scientists to support Process Analytics activities based at our client’s Operations based in Slough, UK.

Job Description

May include but will not be exclusive to the following and will be based on the applicants’ experience and clients’ requirements -

  • Perform a range of cell culture purification and assay determinations with a high level of complexity using HPLC (affinity / SEC), GXII, CE-SDS, Glycan (UPLC/ MS), iCE3, Elisa as well as qPCR.
  • Analyse data and interpret results including troubleshooting and investigative atypical results as required.
  • Involvement in data review assuring compliance of data in line with experiences.
  • To communicate progress and escalate challenges to Line Manager and/or project teams as appropriate.
  • Perform general department functions e.g. stock checks, ordering, buffer preparation.
  • Understand & comply with company, regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Raise and complete regulatory records as required and prepare GMP documentation.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects.

Qualifications
  • BSc in a relevant scientific discipline - Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biological Science, Biotechnology.
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years’ knowledge and experience in a range of the following methods: HPLC (affinity / SEC), GXII, CE-SDS, Glycan (UPLC/ MS), iCE3, ELISA, qPCR.
  • Experience of working in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Detail orientated with great concern for standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory and GMP processes.
  • Good time management, organization and planning skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be capable of developing solutions to problems as part of a team.
  • Willing to operate in a flexible manner and be able to switch priorities at short notice. Seeks new ideas to make improvements within own area of control.
