Premier League Primary Stars uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills.
This is an exciting new post to support in the delivery of the LFC Foundations Premier League Primary Stars Programme as PL Primary Stars Coordinator. This will involve planning, delivering and evaluating a wide range of sports/educational activities to young people and adults in a primary school setting. You will also be tasked with supporting teachers to improve confidence in running PE lessons and working as part of a team across mass participation events.

What will you be doing?
You will deliver educational programmes in the classroom and understand how to plan and structure a scheme in line with the national curriculum.
The post holder will have the responsibility for coordinating some aspects of the project and will be expected to represent The LFC Foundation and the Premier League in a professional manner regarding dress, presentation, personal hygiene, attitude, and professionalism.
The role is full time, and you will be expected to be flexible with working hours.
This role is NOT a football coaching role.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Updating the LFC Foundation’s reporting database
  • Taking responsibility for delivery of the Premier League Primary stars programme in a designated cohort of schools.
  • Plan and prepare prior to each session to ensure that careful considerations are made for all abilities and ages.

oSchool Assemblies
oWorkshops
oSocial Action
oTournament and competitions
oTransition to secondary school sessions.
oTeacher CPD events/sessions
oPLPS Themed Holiday Camps

  • Ensuring that all activities are delivered in line with the current primary school curriculum and OFSTED guidelines.
  • Work closely with primary school teachers to provide support and advice to improve their confidence to deliver PE.
  • Organise and run teacher training workshops to designated primary schools and staff as part of the PL Primary Stars programme.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with LFC partner schools and their key staff including, head teachers, PE coordinators and receptionists
  • Liaise directly with partner schools to support and promote additional LFC activity
  • Collect the appropriate monitoring and evaluation documentation for each premier league primary stars session and assist in the up keep of VIEWS online monitoring and evaluation. This must be done in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessment and health and safety measures.
  • Willingness to improve through CPD and courses.
  • The wellbeing of young people is paramount at the LFC Foundation, you will be expected to understand safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Deliver bespoke interventions to individuals or cohorts.

Who we are looking for:
It’s essential for the candidate to hold the 1st 4sport Level 2 certificate in multi-skills development in sport and a Level 3 in supporting the delivery of physical education. You must have comprehensive knowledge of the PE national curriculum across all of KS1 & KS2. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate some experience of delivering sports coaching in schools to young people of all ages and abilities.
We’d really like to hear from you if you’ve also had direct experience delivering education in a classroom based setting, not related to sports, or if you hold a full teaching qualifications.

The role will also need the candidate to understand stakeholder management, and who can organise and priorities workload effectively. Knowledge of or experience with reports and case studies would be desirable.

Due to the nature of the role, a sporting background would be of great benefit and/ or FA Level 2 certificate in Coaching football.

This role is based in the Anfield Sports and Community Centre in Liverpool, however the role will involve some work traveling to other locations across Merseyside from time to time and occasionally further travel across England and Wales.
