Neurodevelopment, Early Help Family Support

Southend Council are looking to recruit a full time Early Help Family Support Practitioner in a fixed term contract until August 2013.
The position will commence delivery of a new support pathway in September 2021.Professionals and families will be able to refer to a new specialised team who will provide assessment, support and intervention for children and young people where there are neurodevelopmental concerns.
The service will ensure that families are provided with the support they need and will enable, via a multidisciplinary panel, access to the right services for families and children.The practitioner role will involve working with children and their families at home, school and in the community to provide a range of interventions to improve the lived experience of the child and family.
The practitioner will complete assessments, create support plans with families and ensure that information from all sources is available to support timely decision making.

What you’ll need to succeed
The Early Help Family Support Practitioner ( neurodevelopment) will need to have a good knowledge and understanding of Neurodevelopmental needs, excellent communications skills and the desire to make a difference for families where supportive intervention will improve the children’s lived experience and outcomes.
As part of this role the practitioner will need to understand and have knowledge of the impact on trauma and adverse childhood experiences on development . The role requires experience of lone working in clients homes and in the wider community in all areas of Southend.
The practitioner will be delivering interventions individually and to multiple participants, face to face and virtually, and should be able to draw down on their experience with this client group to make informed assessments of needs and be able to share this with their clients.
