Job summary
Fleet Operational Standards and Training Ships (FOST(S)) trains the ships of the Royal Navy, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, and those of our international partners to deliver highly trained and capable ships to meet the operational demands that they may be required to face. This training is delivered to individual Force Elements either in the UK or globally. The FOST(S) brand is internationally recognised as the gold standard provider of Operational Sea Training (OST) and is highly sought after. The ability to provide complex, live, multi-unit warfighting training, delivered by highly experienced and specialist staff, under-pinned by a comprehensive but unobtrusive safety system, is unmatched.
FOST(S) is a training provider under the command of Commander FOST (COMFOST) who reports to the Fleet Commander. FOST(S) has its centre of gravity in HM Naval Base Devonport, Plymouth, with training hubs located in Portsmouth and Faslane.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
This is a varied position which will involve facilitating the joining and leaving process and ensuring information is managed and exploited in accordance with MOD policy, JSP 441.
ISO4 will act as an Expert User and Local Security Officer for both MODNET Official and Secret creating user accounts and managing the password reset process.
ISO4 is also responsible for conducting a rolling programme of audit to FOST Ships SharePoint sites to satisfy Information Assurance responsibilities. You will administer site permissions, build Sharepoint Sites and ensure Site Standards are adhered to.
Responsibilities:
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Complete assurance tasks on FOST Ships SharePoint sites as directed by the IM to maintain information security; ensuring processes, procedures and electronic ways of working conform to legal and TLB requirements (10% monthly).
- Maintain effective permission control to FOST Ships SharePoint sites and documenting decisions for audit purposes
- Diary Joining and Leaving appointments for personnel either joining or leaving the organisation.
Populate and maintain the Staff List. - Administer MODNET Official and Secret account
- Monitor and action the IHUB Multiuser Account
- Manage and set up conference room bookings
- Cover Reception in periods of absence.
- Monitor the Signal Messaging Inbox and transmit Signal Messaging.
