Summary

Are you the person who can help create new, inclusive and innovative marketing activities to launch The Children’s Country House at Sudbury? We’re looking for someone to help reach new and diverse audiences, tailor our activity and connect with our members.

The Children’s Country House at Sudbury is a new visitor offer for children and families. Opening in 2022, we’re recruiting a team to help us reimagine and reinvent our programme, our approach and our relationship with visitors.

This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

What it’s like to work here Sudbury Hall, the country home of the Lords Vernon, offers a delight of 17th-century craftsmanship, featuring exquisite plasterwork, wood carvings and classical story-based murals. Over the past few years, Sudbury’s family audience has grown substantially, and children are vitally important to our future. You’ll work closely across the property team to stay up to date on programming, events and operational information to be shared digitally and physically with our visitors. You’ll line manage a part time Social Media Coordinator and will work closely with regional and central consultants.

What you’ll be doing

Day to day, you’ll manage and develop our annual marketing plan to help achieve our targets. This will include defining advertising activities and creating promotional materials and updates (across all media platforms, including social media), writing and distributing press releases and representing us on location filming and broadcast media when needed.

You’ll help us reach larger and more diverse audiences for our places and our digital content, working as part of a team to make sure that we’re sharing the best stories we can. Spreading the word about places to visit in the great outdoors, and raising awareness of our conservation work is key to what we’re about.

Who we’re looking for

To deliver this role, you’ll need to have;

  • A good understanding of marketing techniques, including websites as well as digital and social media
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent digital and social media skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Advanced IT Skills (including Microsoft Office)
  • Problem solving skills, and ability to work on own initiative
