Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of Overheads ledger ensuring General Ledger is maintained appropriately, including invoicing and expenses
  • Liaise with the Management Accounts team to ensure all accruals/prepayments are posted by the 4th working day
  • Prepare the monthly Group P &L file with commentary, as well as detailed variance analysis by business stream
  • Prepare the monthly Management Accounts pack including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
  • Review the P&L and Balance sheet and provide commentary for the monthly board pack issued to shareholders
  • Completion of Month-end Balance sheet reconciliations (Prepayments, Debtors, Creditors)
  • Review departmental costs to budget and provide commentary on variances to the relevant budget holders (specifically Marketing and IT)
  • Provide business support to the Head of Marketing on the Marketing costs forecast.
  • Review actual and planned to spend with the H of M and other departmental budget holders within the Marketing team to ensure alignment of this significant business cost
  • Assist Head of Finance with the year-end audit, including providing information and answering queries from external auditors
  • Assist Head of FPA in production of annual budgets as well as H2 forecasts. Bottom-up budgeting and development of models covering Store Costs, Distribution and Ecommerce
  • Monthly Shrinkage accrual calculation and production of business shrinkage report for Loss Prevention Manager
  • Ad hoc reporting requests including analysis of various business costs and performance analysis
  • Use and develop BI to support business analysis
  • Extensive use of Excel including formula’s (Sumifs, index’s) in order to develop business models

About you:

  • Experience of prepayments/accruals and production of monthly management accounts
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload
  • Ability to present data/information in an organised and logical manner
  • Strong IT literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and proficient use of an ERP system
  • Highly proactive and positive with a ’can do’ attitude
