Maintenance Engineer - DAYS (Hydraulics)

£37,000 plus overtime

37.5 hours: Mon – Thurs: 8:30am – 5:00pm, Friday: 8:30am – 2:00pm

An excellent position has arisen within this leading Birmingham based, global manufacturer for a Maintenance Technician to join this growing company.

Our client is a major producer of assemblies supplied to the Automotive sector working with some of the world’s leading OEM’s. They require a Maintenance Engineer to be the onsite expert for Hydraulics across our Compression press lines, with the aim to meet, or exceed divisional objectives for Safety, MTTR, MTBF, and OEE.

THE ROLE – Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Engineer, main accountabilities will include:

Provides expertise and guidance on various hydraulic projects that may include review and improvements to Compression press lines.

Conducts field studies on hydraulic facilities; identifies, recommends, and tests strategies to resolve problems and concerns.

Define Preventative, and Predictive maintenance across Press lines.

Manage annual press servicing, and action plan to rectify faults

Support problem solving for reactive breakdowns, and implement a lesson learned process.

Project manage Capex projects, specific to Press lines.

Researches and proposes expansion, upgrades, and/or necessary maintenance work required to maintain and improve infrastructure.

Designs and tests hydraulic systems; forecasts the effects on equipment, including expected wear and tear and degradation.

Uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to create blueprints for Compression press facilities.

Determines appropriate materials and equipment required for projects and facilities including pumps, pipes, conduits, and valves.

Upskill, train the existing Maintenance team, and develop succussion planning process.

Performs other related duties as required.

EXPERIENCE

Maintenance Engineer, the ideal candidate will have experience and in-depth knowledge of:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Proficient with CAD software.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Hydraulic Engineering.

Three years of related experience preferred.
