An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Group Events Revenue Manager to maximise event, conference and wedding revenue along with guest satisfaction, by negotiating and co-ordinating the execution of this business area with other departments in accordance with LQ Resort’s Group Business Plan.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage the conversion of all enquires and monitor performance.
- Recruit, maintain and develop a strong team.
- To oversee that all enquires and correspondence for the events team are being dealt with efficiently and on the day of the enquiry.
- To regularly complete and review correctly the event forecasting and report back accordingly
- To ensure excellent standards of client show rounds and open evenings – working with whole team on guest experience.
- To review all function sheet standards and make changes where necessary to assist both the operational and co-ordination teams.
- To ensure that all diaries and systems are kept up to date at all times and update core system information eg rate plans.
- Achieves meetings and events revenue goals by implementing the set strategies provided from the Group Revenue Manager.
- Actively seeks when available, to interact with existing, potential and new clients by show rounds, lunches and participation in fam trips.
- Work actively to minimise complaints from guests.
- Attend meetings and training required by the Revenue Manager / Revenue Director
- Check the meeting and events VIPs and communicate this information to the team
- Identify commissionable bookings and secures required information
- Ensure that all event accommodation is booked in accurately and ensure release clauses are followed.
- Ensure event contracts are being issued and completed in a timely manner.
- To ensure all events are prepaid in advance, or where applicable co-ordinates credit for meetings and events guests with the finance team.
- To monitor all feedback from clients, including follow up procedure and communicate with team.
- To maintain quality information in all databases.
- To carry out proactive sales activity for events across the group.
- To complete regular pricing reviews and competitor analysis of wedding and conference venues across all resorts.
- Represent the department at the weekly sales and revenue meetings and feedback key business information to the team.
- Follows all applicable laws, and corporate standards and guidelines
- Will include weekend and Bank Holiday working as per business needs. Will also include travel to other resorts as and when required.

- GCSE English grade C /4 or above
- GCSE Maths grade C/4 or above

- Project management and previous event management.
- Sales and marketing to promote event and attract business
- Experience working in sales
- Customer-service experience.
- Experience of dealing with Customer complaints
- Experience of working in public relations, preferably in the hospitality or travel industries
- Experience of managing a sales team
Desired Criteria
- Ability to upsell customers to additional products and services
- Willingness to undertake further training.
- Experience of working within and hosting Weddings and Events
- Experience of using Res-Diary; Ez-runner; Rezlinx; Gift Bonobo
- Managing budgets
