Job overview

We require a proactive a proactive and hardworking employee to work as part of a team in production line environment within Linen Services.

To be part of a dedicated and highly motivated team of staff undertaking a number of different tasks which include uniform fittings, sewing and computer skills, with fantastic communication skills, utilising equipment, working with clinical colleagues and costumers to ensure a high quality service is delivered to meet the needs of the service users.

The post holder will be based at QMC Campus but will be required to cover other areas as required in accordance with the needs of the service.

Hours of work will be 37.5 per week working Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm.

Main duties of the job

To ensure that all uniforms are stored in appropriate areas and within Health and Safety guidelines.

Maintaining quality of work in accordance with the documented procedures – undertaking daily task from communication with costumers, face to face, over the phone and via emails.

Able to make straight forward judgements, investigate problems, e.g. fault finding, stock issues, staff cover.

To provide strong organisation skills.

To work with a flexible approach bearing in mind the needs of the service and staff.

To ensure that a clean protective uniform is worn at all times when on duty and to use relevant Personal Protection Equipment in accordance with the policies provided by the Trust.

To report any signs of infestation to the Linen Services Team Leader.

To be involved in development training by acting as a buddy to new starters by demonstrating own duties.

Demonstrates own activities to new or less experienced employees – supports induction on new starters.

Stock rotation to be monitored on a regular basics.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Applicants must be physically fit and able to carry heavy loads. The role requires you to be active for prolonged periods of time which include the handling of delivery heavy boxes with uniforms and the processing, folding and packing clean uniforms to ensure a high quality service is delivered to meet the needs of the service users.

Hours of work will be 5hrs per week working 5 days out of 7 Monday to Friday 7.00-15.00

The ideal candidate will be required to work bank holidays if service needs requires.

To ensure the correct use of equipment following safety guidelines.

To report faulty equipment to Linen Service Team Leader

The post holder will communicate verbally and face to face with members of staff throughout the Trust patients, relatives and the general public

Disposal of sharps determined by the Waste Handling and Management policy.

To report Accidents to the Linen Service Team Leader
