Do you like solving problems? Have a good understanding of active leakage control and the water supply business? Want to work for an industry-leading organisation? If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join the team as a Leakage Inspector!

What can you expect?

Working as part of a busy team, you will be trained to use a variety of techniques and equipment to find leaks on our network. Once fully trained you will liaise with other network staff about maintaining and improving the network system, as well as reviewing flow alarms and calibrating and maintaining leakage equipment.

You will be responsible for carrying out reactive and proactive leak detection, as well as monitoring the leakage system and collecting data. It will also be part of your role to participate in out-of-hours standby, meaning you will provide support to the business out of the usual working hours.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for a driven, hardworking and self-motivated individual with the ability to learn new skills. As a Leakage Inspector working in a busy environment, you will be able to work well alone or as part of a team. You will also have excellent time management and problem-solving skills.

This is a customer-facing role, so you will need to demonstrate good customer service skills and good IT skills, as you will be dealing with internal systems on a daily basis. A flexible approach to working hours is a must as this role will involve planning and carrying out night work typically once per week. A full driving licence is essential as you will be driving as part of your role.

We have an excellent in-house training programme to assist developing motivated, hardworking individuals into excellent Leakage Inspectors.

Benefits for you

  • Pension – up to 20% combined contribution.
  • 25 days’ holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • Opportunity to buy and sell up to five days’ holiday.
  • Health benefits package.
  • Life assurance (up to four times your salary).
  • Electric vehicle salary exchange.
  • Flexible working.
  • Cashback and discounts from over 1,200 retailers.
  • Paid volunteering day.
