WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for a Senior Software Asset Manager - SAM Analyst to be responsible for ensuring that the IT Software Assets across the Jaguar Land Rover IT Estate are managed and controlled in an effective, efficient and secure manner.

As a Senior Software Asset Manager - SAM Analyst, you’ll be working with Service Partners to ensure that Jaguar Land Rover IT Software Assets are provided promptly to those that need to consume them, that they are purchased most effectively and ensuring that the Jaguar Land Rover organisation remains compliant with legal and licencing obligations.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Responsible for operating and maintaining Software Asset Management (SAM) Policies, Processes and Standards to meet the needs of Jaguar Land Rover IT Services
• Responsible for ensuring that all stakeholders and Service Providers adhere to the agreed Jaguar Land Rover SAM Policies, Process and Standards
• Responsible for working with relevant stakeholders in JLR to ensure that the most effective licence position is achieved for all vendors and that new purchases are made most effectively and efficiently for the business
• Responsible for ensuring that Software Asset requests are fulfilled following applicable Service Levels
• Responsible for working with IT Projects to ensure that all licence needs are identified and satisfied following applicable Service Levels
• Responsible for ensuring that Jaguar Land Rover Software Assets are accurately recorded, and tracked and that Jaguar Land Rover remains legally and commercially compliant in this context
• Consult and supply information to validate Software Asset spending against the agreed budget to ensure optimal usage of assets
• Responsible for working with the SAM function to ensure that consistent accurate data is held to describe the Software Asset estate and that reports can be provided to satisfy SAM use cases
• Influence relevant stakeholders in the wider IT Services on the licence implications of strategic technology choices to achieve the best outcome for Jaguar Land Rover
• Works with resources across the IT Service ecosystem to identify opportunities for service improvement concerning SAM
• Ensures that Risks and Issues relating to SAM are raised and managed according to the agreed IT Risk process
• Attends the Process Owner forum and other appropriate governance forums

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential –

• Previous experience in IT Service Management (ITSM) in a large scale/global context gained at a management level
• Operational experience gained in a multi–Service Provider ecosystem
• Experience in performing a Software Asset Management role at a similar level
• A good understanding of common Software Licence models
• A good level of technology awareness
• Strong analytical skills
• ITIL Foundation qualification

Desirable –

• Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred
• ITIL Intermediate/ Expert certification
• SIAM Foundation qualification
