The Position

Job Title:IT & Telecoms Engineer apprentice

Apprenticeship Course:Level 3 Unified Communications Technician

Location:Liverpool, L19

Working Hours:37.5 hours per week with overtime available. Some days starting at 5/6 am if installation taking place at a distant UK location. Some overnight stays required.

Salary:£8,000 - £14,000 depending on age, experience, and qualifications.

Job Purpose:

Telecommunications work will generally be completed on masts, towers, pylons and building tops so candidates expressing fear of heights should consider this before applying for the role as you will be required to complete and meet the necessary safety climbing standard expected during your training.

ICT work will generally be completed indoors and is usually scheduled when weather patterns dictate it is unsafe to climb.

In some cases, it will be expected for you to travel with colleagues to the installation site and stop over night before to ensure works can be guaranteed to be completed the following day. If you are required to stay over multiple nights, then hotels will be booked by the company and an out of town allowance will be provided.

Holding a clean current driving licence is an advantage and/or it will be expected that you will be able to drive as soon as you have gained relevant certifications and completed the necessary on the job/manufacturer and HSE training.

Applicants will be expected to be physically fit, i.e. capable of working at heights as there is a HSE climbing requirement that means you are trained in being able to conduct a physical rescue should a colleague encounter difficulty on a mast/tower installation.

Ideally the candidate will live within 30 minutes of the offices, so be able to commute to work easily.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Essential: GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English
