We’re looking for an Insurance Claims Specialist to join us in Bradford. This is initially on a fixed term contract basis, with the potential to become permanent.

The purpose of this role is to progress a varied caseload of legal claims; conducting and resolving claims by litigation (including court attendance), dispute resolution and negotiation.

Reporting to the Insurance Claims Manager, you will manage a portfolio of Public Liability claims (including but not limited to Property Damage and Utility Damage, dependent on business needs) and will provide advice and answer queries from various stakeholders across the business.

This is an in-house role and you may also be required to build your knowledge within unfamiliar areas of law quickly and build your knowledge by undertaking legal research. This may be outside your specialist area. You will be motivated by a desire to have a diverse workload and develop your knowledge of new areas of law as and when required.

Your caseload will be predominately small and fast track claims (pre and post litigated) with some multi-track cases within the specialist areas.

We Tend To Look For People With

  • Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
  • Experience of Small, Fast and Multi Track litigation
  • Good practical knowledge of the CPR
  • Solid experience of negligence or commercial claims and litigation gained over a significant period in the industry
  • Experience of handling claims for the communications industry would be beneficial.
