The role would suit an individual with a legal background and education either from an existing legal inhouse function or perhaps you may currently be in private practice within a commercial element to your work and/or an understand of the commercial litigation arena.

The business provides medical reporting service to the health trusts and organisations through its own registered network of independent health professional. In the last 20 years they have seen rapid growth generating turnover in excess of £80M with plenty of scope to for further growth they are seeking to build over the long term their own inhouse legal function. The first step of the journey requires an experienced Paralegal to co-ordinate and manage a number of legal aspects relating to the UK business previously managed by various teams such as finance, medical, clinical quality and operations.

The firm’s external counsel who you will also engage with and be supported by are one the very biggest (UK top 5 firm) names.

Over time it is envisaged that the company will develop a full in-house legal function with this role being part of the legal team.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Manage the insurance approval aspect of onboarding new contracted health/medical consultants starting to work for the business including liaising with the finance and onboarding teams and insurance brokers where required
  • Overseeing and managing the tracker for all UK medical insurance claims and preparing and presenting monthly summary reports of all claims
  • Managing the communication with all parties involved in any insurance claims including the company’s clients, the contracted consultants, insurance brokers and any external solicitor(s) appointed by the company under its corporate insurance policy
  • Manage the central database of vendor contracts
  • Manage the preparation of non-disclosure agreements issued to potential new vendors as part of the company’s new supplier onboarding process
  • Developing the company’s standard procedures for managing legal
