HSQE Manager
£45,000 + Car Allowance / Car + Benefits
Leading Manufacturing, Installation, Maintenance and Service Organisation

Pertemps are exclusively recruiting for a highly skilled and proactive HSQE Manager. As the HSQE Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) legislation and developments, ensuring that the organisation operates in compliance with these regulations. Your role will involve developing and implementing effective HSE policies and procedures, providing guidance to management and employees, and leading initiatives to enhance health, safety, environmental, and quality practices within the company.

Whilst manufacturing is based in Birmingham this role will require you to travel to various sites across the UK.

Key Responsibilities of the HSQE Manager:
" Legislation Compliance: Stay updated on new and current legislation related to health, safety, and environmental matters.
" Inform and advise management and employees on legislative changes, supporting necessary adjustments to working practices to ensure compliance and safety.
" Policy Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain the company’s HSE policies and procedures.
" Reporting and Analysis: Report to the management team on HSE matters, providing actions and timelines for addressing and resolving issues.
" Develop and review risk assessments, ensuring regular formal reviews take place.
" Manage statutory testing requirements, ensuring findings are documented and acted upon.
" Incident Management: Ensure accurate investigation and recording of accidents and incidents.
" Implement corrective actions when necessary and produce relevant statistics for management (KPIs).
" Training and Communication: Develop and deliver toolbox talks to employees.
" Lead training initiatives for management and employees on health, safety, environmental, and quality matters.
" Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure proper implementation and adherence to policies and procedures.
" Liaise with accreditation and authority bodies for compliance.
" Quality Management: Maintain Company approval to ISO9001:2008 standards.
" Report to the management team on internal audits, preventative and corrective actions, customer feedback, cost of poor quality, and quality projects.
" Budgetary Oversight: Set annual budgetary targets for relevant departments.
" Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with the insurance provider regarding any civil claims made by existing and previous employers.
" Meetings and Other Duties: Attend management meetings as required.
" Undertake any other duties identified to ensure the professional and smooth running of the business.

Qualifications and Experience of the HSQE Manager:
" Relevant degree or equivalent in HSE or related field.
" Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of HSE legislation and best practices.
" Certification in relevant HSE management systems.

Candidates from a construction/manufacturing engineering background will be highly regarded for this position.
