Part of the Health and Wellbeing Group, our centres provide locally valued services that help our communities to become more physically, mentally and socially active in the most cost-effective way possible and maximising commercial thinking. We offer behaviour change programmes to support people to take charge of achieving and maintaining better health through being more active.

We are looking for a versatile person who is dedicated, ambitious and experienced in managing multiple leisure sites; someone who likes a challenge and can help steer our centres into the next chapter.

This exciting post requires excellent leadership, management, financial and communication skills. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a proven ability to monitor and improve performance. You will be commercially minded and motivated to make sure the Council gains value for money and that centres maximise their commercial potential whilst supporting those people in most need.

Partnership working skills are central to this role; drawing on investment opportunities and generating income to deliver our ambitions. Flexibility and commitment to customer service are essential.

Ideally you will have a recognised qualification in leisure management or a related subject preferably to degree level. Candidates must have proven track record in facility management and understand all aspects of running a community focused, customer facing business balanced with the commercial acumen to manage a £12.3 million budget responsibility. Experience in project managing large centre redevelopment projects would be desirable.
