Up to £25/hr PAYE dependent on experience

The Role

  • Design connectors, housings, rigs, racks, and enclosures for test equipment.
  • Build / assemble connectors, housings, rigs, racks, and enclosures for test equipment.
  • Produce documentation (primarily drawings and wiring lists) for connectors, housings, rigs, racks, and enclosures for test equipment.
  • Liaise with external equipment suppliers.

Resposibilities

  • Review of customer and internal requirements.
  • Select and design hardware to meet test specifications.
  • Hardware build and commissioning.
  • Sourcing of appropriate equipment and parts.
  • Liaising and engaging with other departments, customers, and external test facilities when required.

The Person Required:

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience (5+ years highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of electrical standards.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety and power distribution.
  • Experience of UK test facilities and laboratories.
  • Interpreting test standards, customer requirements and internal requirements.
  • Proof of Concept / prototype build planning and execution.
  • Problem solving, troubleshooting and attention to detail.

Additional Advantageous Skills:

  • Knowledge of CAD software especially SolidWorks
  • Experience of simple CNC machining of faceplates.
  • Any experience of 3D printing
