Polisher (Glass Machining)

Ilminster

Permanent, Full time position

£19-22k per annum + Rotating (per week) Monday to Thursday 06:00-14:30/14:00-22:30 Friday 06:00-13:30/14:00-21:30 + pension plan + holiday + free onsite parking + overtime opportunities.

Polisher (Glass Machining) sought within Ilminster, reporting to the Value Stream Supervisor/Team Leader, where you will be responsible for setting up machinery, processes, or equipment to enable the safe manufacturing of optics throughout the production process. Addition to this you will be following written procedures to ensure the best methods and equipment are used at any given time and take responsibility of department/cell quality, output, safety, and improvement targets.

The role of Polisher (Glass Machining) will be suited to an individual with knowledge of a similar manufacturing industry, worked with optics, who has precision and experience with polishing and handling glass.

The core function of the role will be maintaining all production documentation, adhering to production processes and procedures, provide feedback on production output and contribute to continuous improvement activities.

The Role In Brief
  • Maintain all production documentation as per the relevant procedures such as route cards, time sheets, traceable data logs and any other department relation documents.
  • Operate/use machinery and tools safely and correctly.
  • Adhere to production processes and procedures.
  • Provide feedback on production output to your line manager and support corrective action in required.
  • Ensure you are working and maintaining quality standards as per BS9100.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures as per the company handbook.
  • Continue to continuous improvement activities.
