Purpose:

The role of the Group Finance Director is to drive significant business growth and profitability in order to achieve the 5 year plan, which focuses on growing a sustainable building business, creating the market leader in the renewable energy sector.

The group companies will benefit from the positive change management leadership demonstrated by the Group Finance Director, who will implement and integrate financial systems, as the business grows organically.

• Leads all financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.

• Manages and develops a growing finance department.

• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Builds and manages monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.

• Develops and implements debt fundraising strategies.

• Develops strategies to increase return on investment and profitability.

• Oversees and reviews accounting tasks, including payroll, taxes, and compliance.

• Presents financial reports to executives, board members, investors, and other stakeholders.

• Collaborates with the executives and directors to create budgets and track key performance indicators.

• Meets deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

• Knows and adheres to UK generally accepted accounting principles and Securities and/or International Financial Reporting Standards.

• Promotes the company’s success for shareholders, as per the duties set out in the company’s constitution.

• Knows how to use companies software and has advanced spreadsheet skills.

• Has strong analytical skills, evaluating financial performance, systems and methods.

• Understands financial reporting, preparing budgets, reports, and financial forecasts.

• Communicates effectively and has exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Develops strong working relationships with colleagues across departments and seniority levels.

• Managing finance and accounting teams, implementing staff improvement and performance management processes.

• Coaching and mentoring direct reports and key members of the leadership team.

• Ability to enforce financial strategies, governance processes and regulations.

• Excels at multi-tasking, organisation, and time management.

• Maintains relationships with stakeholders and board members, ensuring their expectations are included in business plans and reports.

• Liaising and building strong relationships with financial institutions.

• Networking with industry professionals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or related degree.

• Industry recognised certificates - ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA, ICAS, CIPFA

• 10 years’ experience at a senior level in Financial Leadership role

• 5 years’ experience of working with SMEs greatly beneficial

• Experience of integrating acquisitions beneficial

• Experience raising debt funding and managing lender relationships
