We looking to recruit an enthusiastic and energetic Groundsperson to join our busy and focused team on a full-time permanent basis.

Working under the guidance of the Head Gardener this is a key role where you will be required to maintain the grounds and gardens at the Penryn Campus and Falmouth Campuses to a professional standard of presentation for the benefit of staff, students and local community. It is a varied role and represents a great opportunity to join a close knit team.

We are looking for a candidate who has proven experience in general grounds maintenance in sites over 50 acres, along with experience of hard and soft landscaping and lawn management. You will also have a good knowledge of basic tool and machinery use and maintenance. Alongside these key skills we are looking for candidates who have a flexible approach to working hours which include evenings and weekends and a good level of fitness is essential to enable working in difficult environments and terrain i.e off banks, at height, on slopes and carry out heavy work, with a resilience in working outdoors in all weather conditions & seasons.

We would like to hear from candidates who can also offer the following:
  • Qualified to RHS General exam (or relevant gardening experience) and Protection Act (FEPA) units PA-1 & PA-6A (or willingness to acquire)
  • Enthusiastic and self motivated with the ability to take direction
  • Confident in interacting and dealing with a wide range of people

This post is offered on a 37.5 hour a week, full time, permanent contract working 5 days over 7.
