The need to improve water company performance is well documented. Incident management and response is a key portfolio of water industry regulation.

We require a Incidents Senior Advisor to further develop our approach to Water Company incidents, working with other key teams in Water Quality. This is an exciting time to join our team working to protect and improve the water quality of our rivers through effective and efficient regulation of Water Companies.

You’ll play a pivotal role in how we develop and embed new processes, guidance, and training across the agency to identify risks and achieve compliance in the Water Industry.

You will be responsible for:

  • Understanding how we respond to Water Industry incidents effectively and what training, guidance, tools, and practical experience is needed.
  • Engaging across the business to inform a nationally consistent approach to Water Industry incidents. Working with key stakeholders to embed new processes and ways of working through the internal networks and across teams.
  • Working with E&B colleagues to develop and deliver training, new processes, and guidance for incidents.
  • Using data trends to identify opportunities across the sector for improvements to how we respond to Water Industry incidents.
  • Support the Incident Improvement Lead to develop effective processes for Water Industry incidents.
You’ll help plan and deliver improvements to how we deal with Water Industry incidents and ensure we are maximising the use of the intelligence we gather.

Experience/skills Required

You’ll help develop and improve our activities managing incidents from Water Industry. Have organisational and communication skills, and an ability to lead projects.

You’ll have:

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills. Able to identify your audience, understand needs, and use effective and engaging communication.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. Actively encourage others to consider diversity issues at work.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies, develop new approaches/processes and embed them successfully.
  • Ability to harness a team of people to deliver results, to required standards in line with organisational processes.
  • Experience of incident response, preferably water industry incidents.
  • Experience responding to and achieving outcomes in the face of challenge.
  • Ability to respond to tight deadlines, work quickly and accurately to ensure tasks and actions are completed at pace, while prioritising the most important tasks.
  • Ability to guide others to an outcome.
