An effective team player, you will work in partnership with national colleagues in the leadership of the nuclear sector, influencing strategies and planning for the nuclear and non-nuclear sectors’ radioactive waste management and wider environmental issues. You will represent the Agency in building effective partnerships with government departments, the civil nuclear industry, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), the Ministry of Defence, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and other regulatory bodies. You will also be a central lead for the Environment Agency and UK at key local, national, and international radioactive substances meetings, and have a key role in the Agency’s radiation incident management arrangements.

The team

You will lead the northern Nuclear Regulation Group of more than 40 nuclear professionals and also be a key member of the National Radioactive Substances Leadership Team ensuring a consistent approach to nuclear regulation across England and Wales.
