What To Expect

The Opportunity

The GDPR team is a new function within Purchasing Transformation & Operations (PT&O) tasked with maintaining Purchasing’s compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulations. The role requires stakeholder engagement at many levels within the function, as well as supplier engagement.

The successful candidate will be required to lead the delivery of the GDPR compliance framework and sourcing process, developing policies and procedures that align with corporate requirements.

Key Performance Indicators
  • Responsible for the Purchasing’s GDPR compliance framework ensuring that the function can demonstrate compliance with the Regulations and identify effective solutions to potential problems
  • Ensure that legislative requirement knowledge is up to date and, in the event of amendments, develop appropriate actions in a timely manner
  • Organise, and attend as required, ad-hoc working groups to deal with urgent process exceptions including the Clearing House
  • Provide support to Buyers:
  • Dealing with queries about personal information
  • Dealing with Data Processing Agreement requests
  • Liaising with Legal, Data Protection & Information Security
  • Manage and improve GDPR information documentation & assist in ensuring effective training materials
  • Manage the contract inventory / database and compare reconciliation of data
  • Manage Contract Exit requirements
  • Implement system and procedures to respond to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
  • Manage Purchasing’s GDPR sourcing and compliance process, working collaboratively with the corporate GDPR team to align policy and procedures
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on GDPR requirements
  • Liaise with other Purchasing functions to clarify GDPR requirements and ensure that appropriate information and training is available, for example: Supplier on-boarding
  • Follow policy to identify and address supplier non-conformances, and how actions to address these will be monitored
  • Brief management and other stakeholders on the GDPR programme and status as required
  • Prepare Clearing House agendas, reports & management information packs
  • Conduct annual supplier reviews
  • Develop and maintain GDPR policy and processes in accordance with JLR requirements
  • Retain all GDPR records and information in line with the JLR records management policy.

What You’ll Need

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:
  • Experience of working within a project or compliance environment
  • Experience of data protection / GDPR
  • Familiarity with procurement
  • Familiarity with communications
  • Highly proficient with Excel, Microsoft Office, MS Outlook and the Internet.
  • Driving licence required
  • Ability to travel

Desirable:
  • Applicants should be degree qualified (preferred)
  • Legal background
  • Knowledge of supply chains and information management systems
  • Knowledge of SAP Ariba
