Is operating effectively in a transport environment one of your strengths? Is coordinating drivers and ensuring you run a safe and efficient operation a day-to-day occurrence for you? Do you find building strong and sustainable relationships with stakeholders a piece of cake? If so, we are looking for a Fuel Operations Manager to join us and manage our fuel contracts, on a full time, permanent basis at our site in Thurrock

You’ll be supporting over 50 drivers, plus other supporting fuel staff, across day and night operations, ensuring high performance levels throughout.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Day-to-day you will manage the overall operations, ensuring that compliance and targets are achieved in line with business and customer requirements
  • You will need to continually control cost to ensure the site operationally meets or exceeds budget targets and look to continuously improve wherever necessary
  • Activley motivate, manage and maintain relationships with depot drivers and union representatives
  • Proactively promote a health & safety culture, leading by example to help drive initiatives that will maintain and improve our culture of safety across the site

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • Strong on compliance and a National management CPC holder.
  • Previous experience of working within an unionized environment
  • Prior experience within fuel or hazardous goods would be advantageous
