Firewall Implementation and Release Manager

As a Barclays Firewall Implementation and Release Manager, you will be overseeing deployment of new network kit, to both Data Centre and Campus locations within Barclays, delivering network services (such as service segmentation) and utilising the network infrastructure. This is a pivotal role providing input to solutions design and delivery engineers, planning and agreeing project activities alongside business areas working with Senior Stakeholders and key partners.

What will you be doing?

  • Being responsible for all costs identified receive approval from the project/BAU team at both Director/FBP (Financial Business Partner) level
  • Ensuring that appropriate skilled and experienced resources are appointed in line with the requirements of the project
  • You will ensure that project status reporting is accurate and timely and that any risk to timescales is highlighted at the earliest opportunity
  • Communicating within the virtual team is clear and precise, and that all documentation is up-to-date
  • Acting as the primary contact between the project and the virtual engineering teams (both internal and external)
  • Ability to run with multiple deliveries concurrently whilst remaining focused and maintaining a meticulous eye for detail
  • Ensuring all deliveries are completed in accordance with Project, Governance and Control procedures

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in successfully managing IT project deliverables to short timescales in a project /programme environment and escalating any issues to the stakeholders
  • Good understanding of working effectively with internal and external suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and in line with budget
  • Experience in leading and motivating virtual teams (engineers, project managers, transition managers) within an IT environment
  • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Excellent knowledge of working with workload management tools, Navigator and JIRA
  • Demonstrated experience Network Technologies including routing, switching, firewalls and load balancing
  • Experience in working in IT Infrastructure or Application teams within the Financial Services sector
  • Knowledge of ITIL disciplines

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
