The Role

The Finance Officer will be responsible for the charity’s financial activities and produce monthly reports for the Board of Trustees and annual budgeting and cash flow. You will maintain accurate and transparent record keeping and will have responsibility for our online accounting system QuickBooks. You will oversee and take responsibility for ensuring all accounting records are kept up to date liaising with the Finance Assistant.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate, via their CV/application, their ability to
  • Work in conjunction with the Fundraiser to ensure successful bid writing to
guarantee the financial security and continuity of the Charity.
  • Work alongside a small, but highly effective team in administrating a growing
organisation.
  • Compile progress reports for the Board of Trustees monthly
  • Produce and maintain annual budget and cash flows
  • Produce end-of-year financial report
  • Review and process reimbursements
  • Identify and address account discrepancies
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable
  • Manage monthly bank reconciliation
  • Be conversant with all aspects of the charity
  • Manage ordering and checking price comparisons
  • Participate in monthly payroll processes
  • Research and confirm criteria fit with potential funders
  • Provide monitoring and evaluating end of grant report for Funder(s)
  • Recognise potential funding opportunities and financial development areas
  • Submitting end of year financial statement to Companies House and Charity
Commission
  • Produce tender proposals and other fundraising applications, based on
research with other external sources
