JOB TITLE: Finance Manager Supply Chain Ops

SALARY: £52,100 - £60,000

The purpose of this role is to provide high quality finance solutions to support the achievement of strategic business objectives through proactive Finance business partnering. Finance Business Partners will build a credible productive partnership with the Operational Business.

As the Finance Manager Supply Chain Ops, you’ll be responsible for:
  • Deliver finance solutions to support the strategic direction of the business while ensuring the Finance strategy / approach is aligned across the business unit
  • Support the Functional Directors to achieve short- and long-term strategic objectives by delivering plans and initiatives through Finance Business Partnering
  • Support monthly operational reviews with LLPs operating warehouse facilities and challenge Finance KPIs and evaluate potential cost save opportunities.
  • Review LLP forecasts to ensure assumptions are reasonable and manpower planning aligned to expected activity levels. Review change requests for additional services/costs and evaluate the impact on CPU, challenge where appropriate prior to approval.
  • Review LLP Finance tracker and challenge as appropriate, calculate finance sensitivities and understand key value levers, use financial analytics to identify opportunities to improve business performance. Validate warehousing costs for Export and Import pricing updates.
  • Prepare and present financial information such as forecasts, budgets and business plans to ensure strategic objectives are met. Support the short- and long-term financial forecasting.
  • Support business cases for warehouse strategy/ improvement initiatives. Undertake detailed scenario planning and project scoping and management to achieve financial operational and strategic objectives.
  • Annual CPU target setting for warehousing activities for each customer and monthly reporting vs target.
  • Review inventory controls are operating to ensure integrity of SAP inventory reports and that company assets are adequately safeguarded.
  • Monitor completion and accuracy of perpetual inventory counts to ensure compliance with JLR policy and for evidence that inventory controls are working effectively.
  • Ensure potential obsolete/excess inventory is identified and appropriate action taken to mitigate losses and that inventory is valued in accordance with JLR Accounting Policies
  • Ensure controls over expendable and returnable packaging inventory are sufficient (including ensuring returnable packaging is returned promptly and physical count matches provider’s system quantity to avoid penalties for losses.)
  • Control and maintain Fixed asset Register (FAR) for warehousing items, including validation of Project Appropriate Request (PAR), creation of SAP project and capitalisation of assets onto FAR, and any asset moves including disposal of assets and update of location for assets transferred.
  • Cross functional working with the wider finance community to deliver finance strategies / initiatives.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

You’ll join us with proven Finance Business Partner experience ideally gained within a large, complex organisation with good communication, mediation and influencing skills as well as this you’ll have sound financial and commercial business acumen shown through evidence of developing, introducing new or innovative practices/processes in support of strategic business goals.

Naturally, you’ll have exceptional numerical, analytical skills supported by advanced communication and presentation skills – used to translate financial issues for operational teams, identify anomalies and interpret implications.

You’ll have the ability to multi-task, work accurately at speed and under pressure balancing delivery of conceptual work with attention to detail and hands on delivery.

You’ll also have:
  • Strong analytical background, project management and delivery skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • CIMA or ACCA qualified or working towards
