Based across our two manufacturing sites (Scunthorpe and Wisbech), the facilities Engineer will ensure buildings, equipment and machinery that support each site is maintained in accordance with current legislation. Carry out and/or co-ordinate preventative and/or corrective maintenance in accordance with site processes/procedures.

Key areas of responsibility Health & Safety:

 Investigate any near miss events raised in your area of operation. Where the investigation indicates another department should own the investigation, pass this on to them via the relevant reporting system.

 Carry out and review risk assessments within your area of operation.

 Ensure contractor RAMS are fit for purpose and have been reviewed/updated as applicable.

 Completion of the relevant permits to work for contractors on site.

 Conduct regular walks of areas where work is taking place to ensure SSOW are being adhered to.

 Be the responsible person for legionella testing on behalf of the HSQE Manager.

 Carry out statutory checks of fire alarms, doors, extinguishers etc. on a schedule. Maintenance/Repair:

 Physically undertake maintenance, inspection and repair of site plant in accordance with the agreed maintenance regime, including scheduling new tasks in accordance with statutory legislation as applicable. Outsourcing complex tasks as required.

 Liaise with approved contractors to aid with breakdown/repair of equipment/machinery as necessary.

 Ensure the facility performance is measured as required using the building management system (fire alarms etc…) and rectify as applicable.

 Carry out weekly checks of the site to identify and facility asset deterioration (working at height equipment, welding plants, lifting equipment etc) and report/repair as applicable.

 Ensure spares are identified/managed in line with materials required to comply with the agreed maintenance regime.

 Manage the asset management plan across both sites to ensure planned maintenance is carried out in line with the schedule.

Experience

 Basic understanding of plumbing and other general maintenance tasks.

 Practical ability to rectify breakdowns – mainly Mechanical.

 Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is critical.

 Knowledge of MIG and TIG welding is desirable.

Qualifications  Minimum of City & Guilds Level 3 and NVQ level 3.

 Electrical wiring competency in accordance with the current amendment of BS 7671:2018.

 Experience in fault finding and the ability to understand and interpret drawings and wiring diagrams.

 IOSH Managing safely is essential.

 Gas safety registered (preferred but not essential).

 IPAF certification is preferred.
