Our client, an iconic steel production and engineering company, stands as a global leader in designing, manufacturing, and delivering exceptional steel forgings and castings. With their headquarters situated within a sprawling 64-acre site in the heart of Sheffield, they are in search of a dynamic Procurement Supply Chain Manager to join their team. This pivotal role involves spearheading procurement activities, expanding and streamlining the supply chain for a specific workstream, and meticulously managing performance across quality, cost, and delivery.

Role Overview

As the Procurement Supply Chain Manager, you will be at the forefront of elevating our supply chain capabilities. Your presence will be key in ensuring supplier performance aligns with stringent timelines and project milestones. Collaborating with the team, you will drive supply chain expansion and surmount any barriers that impede our supplier relationships. Your expertise will be integral in fostering performance enhancements, seeking innovations, and constantly refining processes. Partnering with the team, you will source the finest products and services, while effectively negotiating contracts with suppliers and customers. Your orchestration will extend to controlling manufacturing and delivery processes, executing an engineering and manufacturing strategy, and overseeing product storage, handling, and distribution, all the while leveraging cutting-edge IT software to meticulously track goods from origin to delivery.

Responsibilities:

· Ensure supplier performance aligns with project milestones and quality standards.

· Lead supply chain expansion initiatives and overcome supplier-related challenges.

· Collaborate with suppliers to enhance overall performance and drive process improvements.

· Partner with the team to identify and secure superior products and services.

· Skillfully negotiate contracts with both suppliers and customers.

· Manage manufacturing and delivery processes to ensure efficiency.

· Strategically plan and implement engineering and manufacturing strategies.

· Oversee the storage, handling, and distribution of products.

· Utilize IT software to meticulously track goods throughout the supply chain.

Qualifications / Experience:

· A degree or CIPS qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.

· Previous experience as a Supply Chain Manager or in a similar role.

· Profound knowledge of supply chain processes.

· Practical experience working with relevant software, such as SAP.

· Strong project management skills.

· Experience within the manufacturing or production industry.

Days/Hours of Work:

· Monday – Friday: 07:45 – 16:00

Experience:

  • Supply Chain Manager or in a similar role.: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • A degree or CIPS qualification in a related field. (preferred)
