Our vision is to leverage the incredible potential of technology to build vehicles that not only offer a premium, all-encompassing digital experience, but that also make our customers lives better.What To ExpectThe successful candidate will be a highly motivated Digital Portfolio Manager and be an integral member of the Special Vehicle Operations team at Jaguar Land Rover.You will be an experienced Digital Portfolio Manager who will be required to plan and manage existing and new project teams to deliver the Digital capabilities required to support the functional workstreams as part of the SVO strategy. You will be expected to plan and coordinate a portfolio of projects to deliver the SVO vision, working closely with the core Customer, Industrial Operations and Programme Delivery domains as well as other supporting domains across multiple disciplines.You’ll also be responsible for the following:
  • Ensuring that all SVO projects are setup to succeed from day one, with close alignment to the accountable Product manager.
  • Leading the successful delivery of a Jaguar Land Rover Digital project portfolio, being responsible for the identification, planning and coordination of a portfolio of change projects within Digital, ensuring priorities, interdependencies and resources are managed effectively.
  • Proactively planning and optimising resources in line with business change priorities so that a realistic delivery programme is established and maintained.
  • Ensuring future processes and solutions are consistent with strategic plans.
  • Leading a team of Digital Project Managers monitoring progress through regular reviews and maintaining close contact with all stakeholders.
  • Applying best practices pragmatically, creating systems fit for purpose.
  • Planning, directing and coordinating activities to manage and implement interrelated projects from contract/proposal initiation to the final operational stage; planning, schedules, monitoring, and reporting on activities related to the portfolio.
  • Working upstream with the Product Managers to understand proposals in the pipeline and ensure a smooth transition into a new project within the portfolio, and ensuring that business stakeholders are managed on all the projects within the portfolio.
  • Working downstream with the Service Delivery Managers to ensure engagement occurs at appropriate points throughout the lifecycle of the projects in the portfolio and that an effective handover to operational support is managed as projects deliver and close.
  • Leading the portfolio team(s) in determining business requirements and translating requirements into operational plans.
  • Determining, monitoring, and reviewing economics to include costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources, and risk.
  • Ensuring that the portfolio is managed to realise business benefits and that stakeholders are informed by an awareness of current technical developments
  • Responsible for ensuring the vision, goals, objectives and strategy are defined for all projects within the portfolio.
  • Monitoring and reporting portfolio performance (cost, timing, resources, deliverables)
What You’ll NeedTo be successful in the role you will need the following skills and experience:
  • Significant experience managing a complex portfolio of IT change projects with track record of delivery.
  • Agile IT background.
  • Proven experience of complex stakeholder management, managing lots of stakeholders with different views.
  • Methodical detailed approach to work context.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify how one issue can impact on another and put in place the required interventions through support or from own knowledge base.
  • Ability to manage significant risks and issues.
  • An excellent communicator.
  • Proven supplier management experience.
  • Commercially astute thinking
  • Ability to work to tight timescales
  • Negotiation and adaptability.
Additional experience and skills that would be advantageous:
  • Formal Programme Management Qualification.
  • Large scale business change / start up experience.
