Glastonbury Care Home is a 64 bedded care home rated by CQC as “outstanding in care”, including a 15 bedded reablement unit which works closely with the NHS to provide care, support, assessment and rehabilitation and you will be joining to help us develop something really special.
As the Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the highest standards of person centred care and support is consistently delivered in the home.The hours of work are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (this is flexible in line with the individual needs of the home).
About The Role
To positively role model and promote our person centred philosophy of care to staff, relatives and visiting professionals in order to maintain a consistently high standard of clinical and social care and support within the home.
You will work with the Home Manager and wider care home team to ensure that the home meets and maintains the regulatory CQC requirements – Safe, Effective, Caring, Well Led, Responsive.
You will be expected to be able to demonstrate a high level of competence in risk assessment, care planning, mental capacity assessment and wider documentation.
You will be supporting and mentoring staff members and students.
You will be expected to support the care of our guests in the reablement unit.
About You
Registered Nurse Qualification – active on the NMC register or equivalent professional clinical qualification
You must be able to work independently and set goals and objectives for yourself, the care home and the team
You will need to have positive, forward thinking and uplifting manner in order to lead and motivate the team
You will need to be competent, confident, professional and autonomous in your practice
A commitment to enabling older people to live their lives as well as they can regardless of the complexities of living with long term or life limiting illness
