The Role

You’ll be working closely with not only your colleagues in the Data and Information Management team, but experts in a variety of roles across the business in order to deliver business as usual and project activities to help deliver on our alignment to the data strategy being rolled out.

We’re in the process of building a Data Platform, this will change the way we use data, and you’ll act as an authority advising the business on all aspects of high-quality data management along with tangible work you’re doing.

We’re also mid a change project focusing on changing the culture of the organisation around data and information and delivering the right operating model to enable us to get the most from our data and information landscape – this role will help deliver this vision.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Delivery and management of the core ETL processes that enable our data to be available for the business’s needs
  • Confidently promote data management approaches to all levels of the organisation
  • Act as a Data Analyst for all aspects of projects, delivering the required project-based work
  • e.g. working with project teams to understand new and existing data sources, whether data models, data extracts or data transformation
  • Mentorship on implementation of high-quality data management to the business and project teams
  • Delivery of data management artefacts applicable to our strategy and needs e.g. Data Models, metadata management, master and reference data management design and implementation, and importantly, this role will focus on the delivery of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes

About You

You’ll act as the subject matter expert on all aspects of data management, being able to confidently promote approaches to all levels of the organisation. You’ll work on business as usual and project activities to ensure the CAA adhere to the data strategy through the delivery of key ETL processes.

Additional Skills and Experience include:

  • Knowledge of all architectural disciplines
  • Conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling with proven experience and delivery benefits
  • Understanding of Master and Reference Data Management concepts
  • An analytical mindset to challenge the business with both BAU and project deliverables
  • Willingness to confidently challenge and quantify data decisions
  • Experience in the transformation of data to meet strategic and analytical goals

Additional Information

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken.
