Data and Records Management Lead

As a Barclays Data & Records Management Lead, you will be a member of the BUK Data and Records Management Function who are accountable for driving the data agenda across BUK, to enable us to achieve a ‘satisfactory’ data maturity control rating across the Records and Data standard (Data Governance and the management of Metadata, Data Quality, Lineage, Data Architecture, reference and master data). You will actively work with business leaders drive quality and efficiency within the delivery model.

What will you be doing?

  • Working collaboratively with other business unit SMEs to share knowledge, solutions and manage risk effectively
  • Supporting new ways of working within own team and wider community, ensuring new ways of working and cultural changes are embedded
  • Ensuring the production and reporting of timely, accurate, and audit-ready documentation relating to change management and maintenance processes
  • Evaluating options and ensure processes are fit for purpose and clearly described for the BUK audience to meet and measure Records and Data Management Policy and standards requirements
  • Providing effective oversight expertise and become a subject matter expert for BUK champions
  • Managing and supporting the establishment of a robust Governance Framework aligned to the Group Data Management Policy and Standards and Enterprise Risk Management Framework
  • Ensuring adherence to Standards by co-ordinating delivery of operating models, designs, procedures
  • Progressing Tracking/ Reporting (including achievements, next steps, milestone progress, risks & issues, Horizontal RAG

What We’re Looking For

  • A sound understanding of the principles and application of risk management
  • Ability to apply operational understanding to the development of control processes and the identification of required intervention to maintain effective oversight of control maturity
  • Proven track record of achieving targets, goals and objectives Display a continuous improvement approach to all responsibilities by constantly challenging the status quo
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to influence at senior executive level including clear communication and strong negotiation skills

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Proven ability to take the initiative and take a leading role to deliver outstanding results
  • Basic SQL proficiency and excellent MS office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Good understanding or experience in data related capabilities; Data Architecture, Data Analytics, Quality Assurance and Control Testing.
  • Basic knowledge of data regulations e.g. Basel, BCBS 239, GDPR etc.

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
