For this role, we are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed person to be part of our small farm team. You will be keen to work in a teaching environment where our students can gain from constructive practical farm work in support of their learning.


Your valuable and skilled farming experience and ability to work to a high industry standard will ensure our 280ha mixed farm continues to operate as a successful commercial enterprise.


This challenging role offers a varied and interesting workload for which a positive, flexible and sometimes humorous approach is necessary.

Hours: Will vary seasonally, with other staff will cover the time from 6.30 am to 5.00 pm and be worked over Monday to Sunday with flexibility to meet business needs.


Alternate weekend cover will be required.


On-site accommodation may be available, at a later date.


Salary: £26,075 - £27,273 per annum pro rata which is Points L25 – L27 on the academic non-teaching salary scales and dependent on experience. Flexibility for right candidate subject to Principal approval.


Job Purpose: To assist with all duties necessary to ensure the smooth day to day running of the mixed farming enterprise on the college estate, a key feature of this post will be to work closely with and become a strong member of our 150-cow dairy team, you will also ensure resources required for practical sessions for all teaching staff are supplied and planned.


Your role will include all duties that ensure all classes of livestock especially dairy cattle and youngstock are tended to and reared to meet our M&S and RSPCA standards. You will also work closely with academic staff to ensure student practical sessions provide a high-quality teaching experience for all learners.
