TECHNICIAN

DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY & PERFORMING ARTS

REQUIRED FOR SEPTEMBER 2022

FIXED TERM – 2022/23 ACADEMIC YEAR

29 HOURS PER WEEK, TERM-TIME ONLY

GRADE 3 - £18,516 - £19,264 (FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT)

£12,320 - £12,726 (ACTUAL SALARY)

The Blandford School is a successful school with high aspirations for our students. With outstanding facilities, and inspirational and dedicated staff, we seek to appoint a technician to support our Design and Technology and Performing and Creative Arts departments. The postholder will also be responsible for the provision of technical and administrative support, including in-class support with student activities.

This role would suit a practical person, ideally with experience of working in a technician role in a school or college, or someone with industrial experience which would transfer into a school environment.

Technical support is required to cover food technology, music technology, performing arts (sound and lighting, etc), together with resistant materials. If you have a background in any of these disciplines, please contact us to discuss the options available.

We welcome potential applicants visiting the school in advance of making an application.

For more information, please contact: Dave Luxon – dluxon@blandfordschool.org.uk or Lucy Bowerman-Ellis – lbowermanellis@blandfordschool.org.uk

Applications are invited via: http://www.jobs.dorsetforyou.com

CLOSING DATE: 25 AUGUST 2022

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory DBS Enhanced Disclosure and acceptable references. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community. This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.

All applications must be made on Dorset Council’s application form. CV applications will not be considered.

The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert and this will be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments. In the first year of service this salary may need to be adjusted to ensure you are paid accurately to reflect your holiday entitlement. A similar adjustment may be made at the point your employment ends to ensure that you are paid accurately for the number of days worked in any academic year. The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and paid annual leave entitlement for an employee under 5 years’ service.
