As a Barclays PMO Lead, you will manage Execution Risk effectively, deliver on our Group strategy and satisfy all our stakeholders. Pod Portfolio Management Teams prevent unsuccessful delivery by facilitating effective management oversight. They do this through supporting executive stakeholders, ensuring they are aware of their role in supporting the relevant governance to effectively oversee a portfolio of change initiatives. Ensuring their Pod is compliant with the Barclays Change Delivery Control Standards.

This opportunity is location flexible. We will consider requests for locating the role at an alternative Barclays’ key UK office from that advertised.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensuring that the portfolio is governed effectively by establishing and operating an effective Pod Stand up of Stand ups that enables quality, data-driven decision making
  • Safeguarding the delivery of strategic outcomes set by the Executive Committee (ExCo) or Transform Committee (TransformCo)
  • Reviewing, resolving, managing and escalating portfolio risks and issues via appropriate governance - including an aggregated view of initiative Delivered Risk Assessments
  • Managing portfolio resources effectively, challenging where appropriate and actively supporting the resolution of variances as necessary
  • Ensuring that change is delivered in line with the relevant policies and standards, driving consistent, robust controls data
  • Engaging and influencing executive stakeholders and helping them to understand their responsibilities and fulfil them effectively
  • Creating an environment of effective delivery within the portfolio team, leveraging knowledge and experience, driving transparency and encouraging debate
  • Being a source of best practice guidance and expertise for delivery leads, leading by example; supporting modern ways of working

What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent analytical and literacy ability
  • Understanding of financial accounting concepts, principles and processes
  • Awareness and a working knowledge of Barclays Change Frameworks, standards and policies
  • Excellent understanding of project governance requirements

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Demonstrate understanding/usage of Qlikview and Navigator
  • Project or Programme Management experience

Where will you be working?

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64-acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
