We wish to recruit an experienced mental health practitioner to work in the role of Senior CAMHS practitioner in our North Cumbria CAMHS Team. We have bases in Workington and Carlisle and the successful applicant may wish to be based in either locationThe post is suitable for mental health nurses, social workers or occupational therapists with at least two years post registration and you must be registered with the NMC or HCPC.
CAMHS is designed to meet the mental health needs of young people who experience severe and enduring mental health needs up to the age of 18 years old.
You will be expected to work therapeutically with children, young people and their families. As a senior practitioner, you will hold a caseload of service users with a range of complex mental health needs with associated risk and you need to be able to demonstrate some experience in planning and delivering interventions both with individuals and their parents/carers
You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and skills in engaging and working with young people using a evidence based model or alternatively use of a therapeutically informed model . You will also need to be able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary context. You should have collaborative and enthusiastic styles as well as a passion and commitment to develop and promote the voice of the young person in their care and treatment to achieve meaningful and positive outcomes for children and young people
The post requires that you are a good communicator and are able to adopt a flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to your work
You will work in a highly supported environment and be provided with training opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills. You must have a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality, safe, patient care.
