The Clinical Ethics and Law research group in the Faculty of Medicine has one year part-time post for a clinical training fellow to start a PhD/ MD and develop independent funding proposal.

The post holder will be medically qualified and be on a specialist training programme. He or she will be interested in undertaking a PhD/ MD out of programme in ethical issues relating to genomic medicine and the implications these have for patients and clinical practice. They will be involved in shaping the design of the study, carrying out preliminary research and writing proposals for further funding.

Applicants will need to have a relevant professional qualifications and experience in genomic medicine; an understanding and knowledge of the ethical issues that arise in this field of practice; be able to demonstrate their ability to engage in conceptual thinking; and meet deadlines.
