WHAT TO EXPECT

The Design Visualisation and Animation department is a highly creative team that provides a high level of visual output including; animations, stills, live, virtual presentation material, filming and motion graphics using industry recognised software and processes. These creative outputs are used to assist Design in achieving gateways, Design Forums and various other high level Design reviews throughout the wider business. The team also have the responsibility for delivering externally facing assets in the form of Photo-realistic images, Launch animations, Web Configurator, Filming and Graphical Assets.

This function has the responsibility for all aspects of Digital Visualisation. The role is multi-facing, dealing with many customers both internal and external including suppliers (utilising existing vendors and researching new processes and technologies).

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • The ability to create 3D Still and animated images.
  • Assist with data preparation of CAS models for use within Visualisation toolsets.
  • Working within a team, have the ability to work in a transparent and professional manner, assisting all design disciplines, whilst maintaining a flexible, pro-active approach.
  • Identify potential process or system improvements where applicable
  • Assist, when requested with all virtual reviews, presentations, market research events or product launches located within JLR Design or externally
  • Assisting the Lead with the attendance at relevant Design Studio programme meetings for current programme awareness and involvement.
  • To be mostly self-initiated but also responding to the requirements of the Design Visualisation Manager, Designer, Programme supervisors and Lead Design Visualisation artists.
  • Interact with key disciplines to achieve the required deliverable
  • Apply common sense at all times seeking the most cost-effective methods of achieving the task of delivery of Visual stimulus to a fit-for-purpose standard, for reviews, with the given timelines.
  • Comply with company policy and procedures, particularly with Design Studio and data security.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Essential:

  • Knowledge of Design processes in a Design studio environment
  • Experience in the creation of Visual Stimulus (e.g. Computer Generated stills/animation, photographs).
  • Experience of using relevant Design software (Autodesk Maya/3DS Max, VRED, Vray, Unreal, Adobe Suite)
  • Strong organisation and ability to communicate
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred

  • A passion for the automotive industry and the potential of automotive design
  • Knowledge of photography and image composition
  • Resilient and enthusiastic, an individual able to deliver results under pressure, whilst responding constructively to disputing new ideas and inputs
