As a Brand Assistant, you’ll be responsible for managing the design to print process for a set of retail categories. This involves keeping up communication with suppliers and people across the Aldi business and making sure that every process is managed effectively. From ensuring we have great working relationships with our suppliers, to crunching the numbers, you’ll get involved in every aspect of the Buying lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure packaging designs and artwork follow approved brand guidelines.
  • Create cost estimates based on approved rate card.
  • Put together critical paths and manage timelines of all stakeholders.
  • Resolve delays.
  • Daily upkeep of the Aldi product portal.
  • Status reporting.
  • Weekly Buying Director meetings.
  • Pre-production meetings.
  • Conduct competitor analysis.
  • Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure projects are kept on track.
  • Monthly agency KPI reviews.
  • Brand training (internal/external).
  • Identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Brief artwork and design for all packaging product roll out.
  • Manage packaging design approvals.
  • Help implement new systems and processes to improve speed to shelf.

Essential Skills Required:

  • Previous experience working for a packaging agency, specialising in packaging design to print.
  • Good understanding of the retail pack change process.
  • Project management skills.
  • Critical path management skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Highly analytical with a creative mindset.
  • Client facing with a can-do attitude.

Desirable Skills Required:

  • Design and artwork agency experience.
  • Retail packaging experience.
  • Experience in writing design briefs and approving artworks.
  • Print knowledge.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Salary starting from £32,075, rising to £37,455.
  • 5-day/40-hour week, working Monday- Friday.
