Join a team of next generation thinkers.What To ExpectThis role is responsible for managing the thermal management and coolant distribution system components within the Battery Electric Vehicle batteries for MLA H/EMA and JEA. The components include but not limited to; cooling pipes, cooling plates, temperature sensing and associated support commodities. Leadership of the team to engineer and deliver related commodities into unit programmes, meeting all defined targets and attributes (technical and commercial – on cost, quality and time). The individual will be responsible for the execution of all process activities to the Programme at all relevant gateways. They will manage a multi-disciplinary team through the engineering, sourcing and delivery of components for vehicle programsWhat You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Manage a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate Thermal and Electrical battery concepts, features and alternatives, develop production drawings
  • Manage matrix stakeholders - coordinate and influence a cross-functional team to ensure robust delivery. Lead a team through the engineering, sourcing and delivery of components for unit and vehicle programs on time, quality and cost
  • Build, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external suppliers and senior stakeholders. Manage conflict and negotiate between parties, where required, to maintain engagement whilst delivering against plan
  • Manage component costs, investment, vendor tooling and design and development
  • Develop, agree and deliver the test plan, confirm parts availability for all stages and ensure cross-functional requirements are integrated in module development
  • Manage project cadence and ensure transparent communication and escalation through:
    • Developing and maintaining the commodity plans
    • Planning and chairing effective commodity meetings
    • Monitoring tasks across the life cycle of the project
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
What You’ll NeedEssential:
  • Extensive experience of delivering technical products through a team
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of Thermal and Electrical systems engineering
  • A deep understanding of design principles and the application of quality tools
  • Knowledge in the management and application of computer aided design techniques
  • Ability to act in an entrepreneurial environment and be resourceful and resilient to the changing demands of the business
  • Extensive experience of project management
  • Experience of budget and target management
  • Good communication
  • Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
Desirable:
  • Ability to build and manage multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environments
  • Previous experience of the automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Experience of Thermal and Electrical Commodity delivery
