We have a new and exciting opportunity for an Assistant Toxicology Examination Team Leaderto join our expanding Toxicology Department to assist with the management of the day-to-day processing of toxicology samples ensuring a high standard of quality, efficient processing of samples and accuracy of result.

Duties will include:
  • carrying out day-to-day planning, decision making and trouble shooting in the dispensing laboratories in order to maintain the smooth and rapid flow of samples.
  • monitoring and updating Standard Operating Procedures and CAPAs as required.
  • assisting in the management of Dispensing Analyst/Laboratory Technicians including recruitment, training and performance development.

The full-time hours for this position are 37.5 hours per week and there is a requirement for working between 08:30-17:00 with some flexibility as well as weekend working as dictated by the workload. Please note that this role is both office and laboratory based.

The successful candidate will be educated to A-Level or equivalent, preferably in a scientific subject. Good knowledge of Toxicology Methods and equipment desirable. Experience in a high throughput laboratory environment would be an advantage. Some experience of managing/leading people and/or projects is preferred.

The suitable applicant will have good interpersonal and communication skills. They will also have the ability to work well under pressure to strict deadlines with a high level of accuracy and flexibility.
