Assistant Accountant // Manchester // £Competitive

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join a leading business in Manchester City Centre during an exciting period of growth. This is an innovative and forward thinking business and the role will suit a dynamic and ambitious candidate.

This is a key position in the finance team and will report directly into the Finance Manager, with the main purpose being to assist with the day to day running of the finance department.

Hybrid home and office working will be available once fully up to speed.

The duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Overseeing Sales and purchase ledger assistants and dealing with complex/escalated matters

  • Providing and interpreting financial information for key contacts in the business as well as external clients

  • Calculating and managing complex payments

  • Approving and posting transactions

  • Month end processes

  • High volume reconciliations

  • Preparing reports e.g budgets

  • Contributing to process improvement

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience in a fast paced finance role
  • Be undertaking ACCA or CIMA studies
  • Have excellent communication skills - able to build relationships well at all levels
  • Have good excel and systems experience
  • Have a very keen eye for detail
  • Have enthusiasm and desire to progress
  • Be extremely well organised and able to work to deadlines
  • Thrive on being busy!
