About The Role

We are seeking a 5G Network Engineer responsible for the design, configuration, deployment, maintenance, and support of private 5G networks, including Radio Access Network components. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal network performance and service delivery for organisational needs.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Deployment

Develop network architecture and design specifications for private 5G networks, including RAN components.
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary RAN equipment and software.
Configure, deploy, and test 5G RAN infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Maintenance and Support

Monitor RAN and overall network performance, analysing metrics to detect and rectify issues.
Provide technical support for RAN and other network-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving in a timely manner.
Stay updated with the latest 5G and RAN technologies, recommending upgrades or changes when necessary.

Security and Compliance

Ensure that the 5G RAN and network components adhere to security best practices and organisational policies.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments on RAN components.

Collaboration and Coordination

Work closely with other IT teams, such as security, infrastructure, and applications, to ensure seamless RAN and network integration.
Coordinate with vendors for RAN technical support, software updates, and warranty-related concerns.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain thorough documentation of RAN and network design, configuration, and changes.
Prepare periodic RAN performance and usage reports for management.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications in network technologies (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) with a focus on wireless communication and RAN are beneficial.
• Strong understanding of 5G technologies, RAN standards, and protocols.
• Familiarity with RAN design tools and software.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, especially concerning RAN components.
• Proficiency with security protocols, VPNs, and firewall configuration for 5G networks.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years in a network engineering role, with at least 2 years focused on 5G RAN or other related wireless communication technologies.
