Waste Consultant – Integrated Waste Management Strategy

  • Best Available Techniques (BATs) and Best Practicable Means (BPMs) options assessments
  • Business cases and strategy papers
  • Support to the permissioning of various strategies, for example planning permissions
  • Contributions to the company Integrated Waste Strategy
  • Regulatory and stakeholder engagement in support of strategy changes
  • Support to Waste Projects and Waste Operations on strategy implementation

It would be great to talk if you have…

  • A degree or equivalent in a science, engineering or related discipline (Essential)
  • Experience of producing BATs/BPMs/Options Assessments, business cases and strategy papers is desirable
  • Experience of planning consents and stakeholder engagement is desirable

Waste Consultant – Waste Characterisation

  • Support to Magnox sites on development and maintenance of low activity waste fingerprints
  • Characterisation strategy, process, and planning support to projects
  • Support to the delivery of characterisation training
  • Facilitation of fit-for-purpose characterisation/laboratory services
  • Maintenance of characterisation related standards and guidance

  • A degree or equivalent in a science, engineering, or related discipline (Essential)
  • Knowledge and experience of waste characterisation
  • Effective communication and networking skills, strong delivery focus and demonstrable problem-solving skills

Waste Consultant – Low Activity Waste Disposability

  • Developing permissioned solutions for the treatment and/or disposal of Legacy Wastes; this relates typically to the more complex or problematic LLW waste streams
  • Developing permissioned solutions for the treatment and/or disposal of materials defined as ILW diversion opportunities; this relates typically to borderline waste streams
  • Representing Magnox externally at various meetings and workshops and other relevant events, including regulatory discussions.

  • A degree or equivalent in a science, engineering, or related discipline (Essential)
  • Knowledge and experience of LLW waste management
  • Effective communication and networking skills, strong delivery focus and demonstrable problem-solving skills
